Now this is more like it.

Back in March, when I was rediscovering blogging and was looking for a good blogging tool, I laid down my verdict on the old Friendster Blogs: I didn’t like it. The interface was too clumsy and counter-intuitive. Too many buttons and tabs to click just to get to the next step or to make simple changes. It was such a hassle, that I dropped it altogether after a post or two.

So slowly I drifted away from Friendster, just stopping by occasionally to check on friends and the network I’ve built over a few years. While I was busy setting up a new space over at Facebook (won’t hurt to try it), apparently Friendster made a brilliant decision to adopt the WordPress MU platform to overhaul its blog feature.

I have a blog at WordPress.com and a few other experimental self-hosted WordPress-based blogs, so I was pleasantly surprised to see the all-too familiar interface here. To those who don’t know much about WordPress, check it out. It’s a very powerful CMS (content management system) and blogging platform that anyone who’s serious about blogging should try to learn.

(Yes, I’m a WordPress junkie. In fact, I recently attended the WordPress WordCamp Philippines 2008 at the College of St. Benilde last September 6. Now where is that tight-fitting girly WP shirt to prove to you I’m not making this up…)

And I’m satisfied with the themes they made available here. Not bad at all. Now I have a good reason to again hang around Friendster more often.
